Summer Reading

The Friends pay for the materials and prizes for the library’s popular Summer Reading program.

This initiative offers incentive and encouragement to kids, teens and adults, and helps prevent the “summer slide” reading loss. Foot traffic at the library increases by nearly 30 percent during the summer months!

  • Kids

Kids from age 2 to those entering Grade 4 set reading goals, log their progress, and collect a new prize each week.

  • Teens

Young adults entering grades 5 to 12 earn tickets in various ways, and can enter a weekly raffle for a chance to win fun prizes.

  • Adults

Adults challenge themselves by setting unique reading goals. Participants can enter a weekly gift card drawing, and everyone earns a Kimball’s gift card at the end.
